UniJolt is a website focusing on the Japanese music scene – providing news, reviews, and band/artist interviews.

Our Name:

We feel that much of the music from Japan is fresh and unique in comparison to most western music. Listening to it for the first time is similar to someone’s experience when first tasting uni – a rush to the senses unlike anything before!

Our staff:

Todd Nelson is an IT Specialist residing in Texas. He has a passion For Japanese music, J-Rock and J-Metal in particular, and aspires to introduce others to the artists that create
this exceptional music through news articles, live reports, and artist interviews.

Cap Hayes is an InfoSec Engineer based in North Carolina. He loves girl’s rock and any band with a cool bassist. Cap joined UniJolt to introduce Japanese bands to foreign fans through interviews, translations, news, and his photography.

Brian Galloway is an Information Developer based in Houston. He fell down the Japanese rabbit hole a few years ago and hasn’t regretted a minute of it. Although it wasn’t intentional, most of the music he’s loved the last few years has been created by “girls metal” bands in Japan. Brian joined UniJolt to share his love of the music scene in Japan through reviews.

Matt Clark is a Facilities Supervisor based in San Francisco. Long years of listening to various genres of heavy metal and pop/rock have infused him with an eclectic taste in music. Currently most into the “girls rock / metal” scene, he will share his passion for this music through news and reviews.
